I’m delighted to announce that I’ve joined D3 Security as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). The cybersecurity market needs an intelligent SOAR solution and D3 Security is the only company delivering. I’m incredibly excited to lead this next phase of growth.
I’ve been a sales, partnerships, and marketing leader in the technology industry for more than 20 years, with much of that focusing on IT security. I like to think my specialty is helping promising start-ups and small companies grow their revenue so they can make the leap to the next level. In my most recent role at Avanan, I did just that, helping to increase annual recurring revenue by more than 1200%, leading to the company being acquired by Check Point.
Following the acquisition, I stayed on for more than a year to help with the transition. However, I knew that eventually I would get back to working with a high-growth independent company where I could have the most impact helping security teams achieve their goals through great technology.
D3 is at the spot in its evolution that most excites me, and where I have had the greatest successes in my previous roles. It is rapidly growing and on the cusp of something even greater. The next few years are going to be critical for D3, and present such a great opportunity for the company, that I knew I had to be a part of it.
So why is the opportunity for D3 so compelling? First, the technology. D3 has always been a technological innovator. While many of its competitors jumped onto the SOAR bandwagon when the market started to take off, D3 was already a leader in security incident response and case management since long before SOAR existed.
In the SOAR era, D3 has kept innovating. Embedding the MITRE ATT&CK matrix to bring attacker techniques into event enrichment, threat hunting, and reporting. Creating the Event Pipeline, a truly game-changing global playbook that automates the entirety of tier-one alert-handling. Those are just a couple of examples, and the things we have on our roadmap are even more exciting.
The technology and innovation are undeniable, but the second reason D3 is facing such an exciting period of growth has to do with market trends. It’s no secret that over the last few years, SOAR vendors have been swallowed up by some of the biggest software companies around. This has meant that most SOAR tools are now sold as part of a larger suite of security products. This is not ideal for customers, especially MSSPs. The strength of SOAR comes from its ability to integrate with tools of any kind, so tethering your SOAR tool to one vendor’s suite of products is far from optimal.
As one of the few independent vendors still focused on comprehensive, end-to-end SOAR functionality, D3 stands alone as a proven, enterprise-ready alternative to the suite-based giants.
What Security Challenges is Your Organization Struggling With?
That’s why I’m excited to have joined D3. If your organization is looking to improve its security posture and overcome some of the most entrenched challenges in the industry—like alert overwhelm, analyst burnout, and data silos—we’d love to talk to you and show you how we can help.
And I want to make a special callout to MSSPs. I’ve spent a lot of time working with MSSPs—in fact MSSPs were one of the key tenets of our success at Avanan—and I can tell you that D3 NextGen SOAR is the best solution for MSSPs that want to improve their services and achieve their business goals.
